How can I upgrade my Windows 8 Home (Core) edition to Pro?

Note: Windows 8 enables you to upgrade from a lower edition to a higher one for additional features.
Note: Your documents, installed programs, and other files will remain intact during the upgrade, but it is advisable to back up your data to prevent loss due to power outages or unforeseen issues.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Access System Properties by right-clicking on the This PC or Computer icon and selecting Properties.
  2. In the Windows Edition section, click on Get more features with a new edition of Windows to launch the add features wizard.
  3. Click on I already have a product key.
  4. Enter your 25-character Windows 8 Pro product key and click on the Next button.
  5. Agree to the license terms and click on Add features.
    6. Note: Ensure your work is saved before clicking Add Features, as your PC will restart at least once during the upgrade.
  6. After the upgrade, you will see the message Thanks, you´re all done and your PC is ready to go. You now have Windows 8 Pro installed.
